My latest free WordPress plugin, WP Craft Blogger, has just been submitted to the repository. And it’s one that’s particularly dear to my heart. Here’s the bumf:
WP Craft Blogger allows knitting and crochet bloggers to add patterns to their craft blog using a simple interface and display them with a clean, standard layout.
The current version number is 0.0.1, which as you might suspect means this is very much in beta. There are lots of new features to add and probably bugs to fix, but I wanted to get something out there asap for those people who have shown interest in testing such a thing. The official release page with all the important info can be found here.
If you’re a blogger who posts (or would like to post) free or members-only patterns for knitting or crochet, then this plugin is for you. Right now it simply gives users an easy-to-use interface for adding new patterns, and displays them neatly on the frontend. Next stops include an automatically generated print template for your patterns, Ravelry integration, and I’m thinking about some clever ways to handle common abbreviations between patterns.
Once all of that is out of the way, I can start to add tailored support for other crafts, so get those requests in!
